So, clearly I have been ignoring the incoming pile in favour of opening packages and sitting the contents in a corner. This is what happens when I do that. Behold.

Lots of awesome these days.

I have been freelance reviewing books like a fiend. It helps to vet books for my bookstore job (we need this title, we can pass on that one, etc.). But, as ever, I am not reading as fast as I would like.

However, I read Winter in four days, which at 800+ pages is not insubstantial work. It’s my new superpower, I think…powering through a book that big in scant amount of time.

But things are mostly going well. Trying to get ahead and failing miserably. As always.

I am gearing up to start my December writing project. Still working on Fairy Tales. Still have not tired of that yet. I was going to start the process of looking for an agent this year, but alas, that has not happened. Hopefully soon. Ish. Hopefully.

Until then the writing it the funnest part (that’s not a word, funnest). And the hardest part, clearly. T’is true.

To that end, I am reading a book by Katherine Briggs on traditional Fairy folklore. It’s making my brain full of possibilities, which I am loving. So many plot ideas can be generated from mythology and it’s so easy to mine and make my own. So, that’s going to happen. I am also currently reading These Vicious Masks by Tarun Shanker and Kelly Zekas. I have barely scratching the surface of it yet, so no really opinion has formed. Some of the beginning seems a little clunky to me, so that’s happening. We’ll see once I get further into it.

I have a bunch of awesome books now. I am most looking forward to Richelle Mead’s The Glittering Court. I probably should try to read it before the next two weeks slip into my project, or it very well might go unread. This happens with so many things that I want to love, they get destroyed or put aside by other projects. We’ll see.

Work is good. Holidays gearing up. Holiday retail = joy.

(It’s better than it used to be, though. Much more manageable, that’s for sure.)

So many things. So little time.

In light of that, I am off to work. What is everyone reading right now? What are you most looking forward to reading?

Thanks all!
