The Perks of Being a Bookseller – Part 78

Hello folks. How is everything going in the outside world?

It’s been a minute since I have updated the perks feature. In my defense, it’s been raining (or threatening to rain) here on and off for weeks. It’s made it hard to get a good photo of the books. So, I kept putting it off. My bad.

That said, I finally had (sort of) enough light to take one today. Behold.

There’s so much in there that I want to read. I am still trying (and failing) to catch up on my September books. There are so many of them though that it’s making it a challenge. September is ALWAYS when the biggest glut of Christmas titles come out, and by that I mean titles that the publishers hope will be big for that season, not necessarily Christmas themed titles.  I have been trying to get ahead of them but I am failing. My attention span has been off and on for the last few weeks. I blame lessening my intake of caffeine, truthfully.

I’m working on Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman for a freelance review currently. I have one more due by the end of the month and then I can jump back into the September fray. I might have to take a month (or two) off from freelance reviewing, as I keep prioritizing those books ahead of everything else (because money). Looking ahead at October and November I only have a handful of titles that I want to read (and all of them I’d like to write lengthier reviews for). So, the next few months of reviewing might be lighter automatically. Which is good, because I have so many books downloaded that I have to read.

And I still have to start the middle grade project. Oi.

All things aside, though, life is good. Despite the business. Always.

And I am going to make this short, because I only have so much time before work. What have you been reading lately? What are you most looking forward to read?

Have a good day, all!

I know all about those perks, though out store saw a smaller selection. ^-^ Looks like you have a splendid array of titles there. AS for me, I’m in the middle of THE LITTLE BEACH STREET BAKERY by Jenny Colgan….well, in the middle of the book, not the actual bakery because if I was I’d be sampling some of the amazing breads our lead has been making! Happy reading!

I am most looking forward to CAREER OF EVIL #3 in the Cormoran Strike series by Robert Galbraith aka J.K. Rowling. It comes out in Fall.

I’ve been trying to catch up on a lot of mystery series. I need to get back to Terry Goodkind and book 7 Sword of Truth series. It’s been almost a year since I read a Jim Butcher’s Dresden File and I am missing that series too.
