‘Ello all. How are things?

I live. That is the important thing. I am still mired in the business of settling into a new home, finding places for everything and learning about the community. But, the books are coming fast and furious and here they are for your ogling pleasure.

So, things are good. I’m downloading books like a mad woman, so I have a lot more books pressing in my iPad. I have secured several publishers recently for white-listing status on Edelweiss, so that is pretty fantastic. I’m settling into the new job and enjoying my time there quite a lot. There is a good deal of work to tackle and some days it seems insurmountable, but I’m pretty jazzed to be there. It’s a cool place.

I’m also entrenched in writing the last third of my WIP (from December). This is continuing my fairy tale books (series? I hate to call it a series). I am sitting at 90,000 words of text with no end in sight. I think it’s going to hit about 130,000 – 140,000 words, which will make it my longest MS to date.

Which still astounds me. To no end.

At some point I will veer from the fairy tale retellings, but not yet. I have three more fairly firmly conceived in my head and they are taunting me with the proximity. I have thought up two more original books that I would (ideally) gear to the YA market, one is dark fantasy and one is contemporary, but those are still in the concept stage at this point. I really want to start working on them but…life and love are getting in the way. In a really GOOD way, I might add.

I am currently reading Rogue by Julie Kagawa for a freelance review. I’m also picking away at Jinn and Juice by Nicole Peeler. Both are good, but the first one takes precedent since it’s due soon (tomorrow). The Peeler is just for me. After those I had to read The Owl and the Japanese Circus by Kristi Charish. I might also start Shadowscale by Rachel Hartman, since I am meeting her in three weeks (gasp!). I’m in a High Fantasy mood and I was going to start The Grace of Kinds but… alas, events come first.

So many books. The best laid plans of mice and…something…something.

I am doing well. Really. Just busy. BUSIER than busy. So many things.

Alright, I ramble. So I’m out. What are you reading right now and what are you most looking to reading?
