The Perks of Being a Bookseller: Part 60

Wow… 60 perks. I did not expect to get this far, but I have. And how.

This week was a giant week for books. Observe…

DSCF2562

– Spoils from a Publisher Rep Breakfast, largely given away or preserved for giveaways –

DSCF2577

– Offerings from the Harpercollins folks, and a few Penguin titles as well –Β

At one point there were actually two final copies of Rebel by Amy Tintera, but I gave one to a friend. I didn’t quite need two.

So yeah, lots of swag this week. It was like Christmas coming home to lots of parcels. Much fun.

I finished reading Open Road Summer by Emery Lord and a special secret something this week. I’m now charging into books with complete abandon. I have so much to get done in the next two weeks. I’m starting Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld, Hemlock Grove by Brian McGreevy, and Dark Metropolis by Jaclyn Dolamore. I have to read Lev Grossman ASAP as well, and I’m thinking of starting Gone Girl soon (finally). So everything is coming up books for the next few weeks. As it should.

I won’t linger, as I have had some issues with my wrist and hand this week and it actually hurts to me type… Another reason why it is good to only read (and not sit on the interwebs). What are you focusing on this week and what are you looking forward to read?

Happy Monday!

Nice “Christmas” haul this week! πŸ˜‰ The Walled City looks pretty good, and I’ve heard such amazing things about Since You’ve Been Gone I finally added it to my wishlist. I’ve seen The Girl With All the Gifts advertised absolutely everywhere and hope you get to it soon, I’d be really interested to see what you think.

I’m currently reading Hungry by H.A. Swain. It started off really interesting and original but the MC Thalia is seriously stupid and it’s getting on my nerves. Hopefully she’ll get smarter, but I’m not holding my breath. Next up for me is probably Take Back the Skies, although I’m dying to read Meridian so I might just sneak it in. Oh, and I just read the entire Strobe Edge series yesterday! It’s seriously one of the best romances I’ve ever read – highly recommend if you need a manga fix sometime.

I hope your wrist gets better soon! Mine has been acting up as well – too much computer and holding books aloft. πŸ˜› Can’t wait to her what you think of Afterworlds. Happy reading! πŸ™‚
