The Perks of Being a Bookseller: Part 32

Hello. All.

It’s been a great week bookwise. I went to a pub rep breakfast and acquired a whole lot of goodies. See…

… Yes, there are three copies of both Unhinged and Cress. Yes… I snitched three. In my defense though no one was taking either book. So, I grabbed for giveaways. Because why not? Keep in mind one giveaway will not happen for at least a year. Not until I acquire an ARC of Winter. And then I am giving ALL OF THEM away.

Yep. All of them.

And speaking of giveaways, if you haven’t entered this one yet… you should.

Also, THIS ONE!

Then, yesterday at work, these showed up.

So, as you can see, it’s been a good book week.

I’m in the midst of reading three books – The Essence by Kimberly Derting, Entangled by Amy Rose Capetta, and Twinmaker by Sean Williams. All three are Science Fiction which is problematic. I realize that while I can read several books at once it helps when they are all of varying genres. It helps to differentiate the details. When you have three of the same going at one time it starts to muddle the details a little too much. As a result I have had to make myself notes in the hopes to be able to remember all of the details.

Which sucks. And this is why I don’t do that.

Thus far, The Essence is good and Entangled is fantastic. Twinmaker is intriguing though I know that there has not been a lot of positive reception just yet. We shall see how it pans out. I don’t hate it, so that’s good.

I’m looking forward to next week being over when I can jump around in my reading a bit. When I was knee-deep in hospice/hospital frenzy with my brother I panic downloaded a bunch of books… which, of course, are all expiring from my iPad NOW. So, I’m trying to finish the last few in time to review them and then I will have A LOT of reading wiggle room. Most of my e-arcs from that point on are due in late January and April. So, I will be able to dive back into the real pile with a vengeance.

There’s a lot I am looking forward to reading. But, first off, Dune. When this week is done and I have finished four books, I will FINALLY start Dune.

… I promise…

I think that’s about all, folks. What are you reading? What are you looking forward to reading most?

And, stay tuned… I have a very awesome giveaway coming up later today.

I just finished Written in Red by Anne Bishop last night. It was fantastic! As an old school fantasy and urban fantasy fan it hit all the right buttons. I couldn’t recommend it enough. I’m avoiding The Archive by Victoria Swab. I’ve been told it gets better so I don’t want to give up but it’s so boring right now! Wow, whining much? After that it’s the fourth book in the Elemental Assassin series. After that Dune sounds about right:)

O_O Three copies of Cress and Unhinged… *drools* I can’t believe no one was taking them! Who do they invite to those things? They wouldn’t have pried me away from the table before I got one of both.

I just finished devouring Cinder and Scarlet, just in time to see the author on the 30th – really looking forward to it! Wish I’d been able to read Cress as well, though. *sigh* Today I started Perfect Ruin – I’m not expecting much (despite the hype), but so far it has proved intriguing.

Congrats on all the goodies and happy reading! 🙂
