Hey all. How was everyone’s holiday? Mine was interesting. I spent the first actual Christmas day ever not at my Mom’s house and instead went to my husband’s people to celebrate with them. It was odd and different, but not unlovely. Schlepping an infant 12+ hours in the car there and back, though…could have done without that.
And while that was going on, books came in. Because, of course they did.
For those keeping track, some of these are duplicates (besides the duplicates in-pile). However, I am so very geeked for a couple of them. Specifically Strange the Dreamer and Thick as Thieves (I’ve waited seven years for this book). I cannot even begin to articulate how geeked I am for TaT.
What else has been going on? Oh yeah, New Years. Happy 2017! I spent a very blissful New Years at home with family playing video games and trying to get back into our routine. In addition to that, I need to get reading more. My goal in 2017 is to get back into reading physical books (specifically, all of my lovely ARCs that have been flooding in). The biggest challenge of course is now that I have a child, and much of the time I am currently caring for her, how am I going to read as much as I once did? I need to try to set aside at least an hour a day so that I can keep up. That seems reasonable, considering.
I have listened to a ton of audiobooks though, none of which I have had time to sit down and review (booo!). The list includes Red Queen, The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, the Hush, Hush series, The Girl with All the Gifts, and continues on and on (Overdrive app and library lending are a beautiful thing). I am currently listening to Daughter of Smoke and Bone in attempts to FINALLY finish that series (so good!). I am currently still reading A Court of Thorns and Roses, which I like but is not compelling me to open it right now. I am also reading Anne of Green Gables aloud to the little girl, and that seems to be taking priority, because again…child.
I did not do a writing project this year, because…yeah.
I need to do a best of 2016 book post still. Mental note.
What else? Got nothing. I guess we are good.
What is everyone else reading right now? What are your reading goals for the year?
