The Perks of Being a Bookseller: Part 63

Hey all.

It’s Monday, and here I am, with enough perks books to do a decent post.

So, without further adieu, the spoils.

Once again, so many books… So brain power.

I’m thirty pages away from finishing Gone Girl, and it’s killing me a little bit that I am writing this post instead of reading. The book is good. Really good. Like, everything that you have already heard buzz-worthy good. I’m enjoying the hell out of it. After that I’m supposed to start about three or four review books and I just have to decide which one to go with. I’m feeling fantasy and I have The Queen of the Tearling, but I have started it now twice, so we’ll see if it sticks. I also have The Midnight Thief, which I know very little about but everyone seems to LOVE. So, I hope it works.

And then I have three manuscripts that I have to power through.  Oi.

(All books and no play make Krys something… something.)

Luckily I am going on vacay in a couple weeks so I can catch up then (maybe).  When did that start, having to take time off to catch up on things for my job? Sigh. Heavy Sigh.

I am looking forward to reading The Iron Trials though, despite my current misgivings with Clare. I love her, I do. I’m just in a weird relationship with her these days. It’s complicated.

(I still haven’t read City of Heavenly Fire OR Clockwork Princess. No spoilers please!)

I think that’s about it, so I’ll wrap up. What are you reading this week? What are you looking forward to reading in the future?

Nice haul this week! I actually hadn’t heard of most of them, but City of Savages looks interesting. I’ve heard amazing things about Gone Girl but have yet to really look into it, so I’m looking forward to your review.

After discovering I should not read three books at once (I’m a one book at a time reader, apparently), I burned out again and couldn’t read anything for a few days. Finally I decided I felt like re-reading INDELIBLE by Dawn Metcalf in prep for the 2nd book, INVISIBLE, which I should hopefully be getting my hands on soon. It’s proving an even better read the second time, and I’m really happy to be reading something!

Happy reading! 🙂
