The Perks of Being a Bookseller: Part 45

Hello all.

I’m currently listening to this on repeat while I fight unnecessarily with my camera (again). Suffice it to say that you get an unflattering, less than pretty iPad photo of this week’s Perks.

Also, I am now looking forward to seeing Maleficent. Yes, yes I am.

(Husband, this is one of those non-negotiable wifely things, like taking me to see Frozen this week… which made him decide he is finally over Disney movies despite it being awesome.)

(By the way, I saw Frozen this week.)

perks 45

(Sorry, not sorry for being all over the place.)

It was a slow week for advanced things but a great week for finished copies. HC sent me a whole glorious box, and Ophelia and the Marvelous Boy came through work. So, there are goodies and goodies, and I am looking forward to them.

(Refreshes Once Upon a Dream)

Also, if you have not yet read The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider then you really should. It’s fantastic (and I once reviewed it here when it was still called Severed Heads, Broken Hearts).

I’m currently in the middle of reading Veronica Rossi, which is absolutely rocking my world this week (review to come). I don’t know how I am going to take time off to read a freelance project, but it must be done. I just have to set aside Rossi temporarily (whimper) in favour of another book.

Say it ain’t so, Plucky. Say it ain’t so.

(refresh Lana Del Ray)

What else… I’m going to get a lengthy amount of sitting time this week for reading. I can’t decide if I want to  read something (that is not mine) or edit something (that is). Decisions. And trifles. And parenthetical statements.

(And, in an unrelated coughing fit, I almost just spewed oatmeal all over the place.  You really wanted to know that, I know you did.)

(Damn oatmeal trying to kill me.)

(Glares at oatmeal.)

(Yes, I am now fighting with oatmeal.)

(refreshes song)

I feel like I am catching up since I am FINALLY reading an older series that everyone has told me to read, and yet I have all of these (gestures around self) sexy new books to read. It’s sort of frustrating and yet completely satisfying. And I still wouldn’t trade a moment of it.

I have a giveaway up. If you haven’t entered yet, please do.

I think that’s it. What’s everyone reading right now and what are you most looking forward to reading?
