The Perks of Being a Bookseller – Part 34

* My apologies for the earlier incompletion of this post. WordPress chopped it up something fierce and I didn’t notice how bad until late in the day. Allow me to correct it now.

Hello lovelies.

It’s been an awesome book week here. I’m in the middle of a lot of projects, that “finger-in-pies” thing that I know I’ve mentioned before.

To that end, here are some of the visuals.

– Cupcakes from Brooke at Walking Where Reality and Dreams Collide. She likes to give me presents when I send her book gifts, which hasn’t happened recently. You have to tell me what you want, love! –

– Jar Cupcakes! –

– To patron Wicked Cupcakes go here.

– I have friends! They like to buy me cuppy cakes. –

– Okay, back to book porn. Three by Kristen Simmons from Macmillan. Now I can finally see what everyone is talking about! (so behind) –

– Annnnd finally, my Penguin rep showed up yesterday bearing goodies. So excited about some of these, particularly Half Bad by Sally Green (which I had never heard of until I removed it from this package). I’m kinda hoping it’s what I wanted that A Discovery of Witches did not deliver (disappointed, I was). –

So, yeah… quite literally goodies this week. I’m in the midst of ten different projects. I know I owe you posts – giveaway winners, reviews, Dune update, (moar giveaway) and so forth. I’m trying to keep up, but generally when I am absent from online I am reading, which is good for all of us (trust me, it is). Well, this week I got sucked back into the world of Divergent, which I am currently rereading in anticipation of Allegiant.

And, speaking of Allegiant, here’s an awesome promo. Schuler Books and Music (the company for which I work) is offering a 50% discount to anyone who pre-orders Allegiant through them. Also, if you want to ship it (within the US) they only charge $1 media mail (per book). If you would like to take advantage of that, GO HERE.

(There is a code to apply to get the discount – DAYONE10. It’s in the banner on the home page if you forget.)

I’m not saying that you should go and cancel any other order you have already placed with other companies… but you totally could. It’s a great deal, after all. And, for Michigan folks, if you opt for in store pick up do it at Eastwood (EW). Then you can come say hi to me. And please feel free to!

(I’ll stop shilling now.)

Argh. Just so you all know I had another gob of text here (as in the next resulting paragraphs) and WordPress ate them when I saved them. So…. grrr… now I have to recreate them (or in Neon Genesis terms, now I have to redraw the map!). Gyahhh!!!

So… what did I talk about? Gyah.

Pawn – finished. And I owe you a review.

The Undead Pool – stopped halfway through a chapter. I’ll get back to it, but Kim Harrison is steering the series in a direction that I don’t want, so I literally stopped mid-unwanted-scene. Sigh. I’ll get back to it, but other books have dominated my brain.

Divergent – Still eating my brain.

Dune – We’ll talk soon.

Champion – I haz news.

Okay, summed up. I’m getting out before this gets jacked up again. What are you looking forward to reading and what are you reading right now?

I’m out.

Cupcake porn and book porn? I think I just died. So are you buying/selling said cupcakes or making them or both? Sorry, I was a little confused.
I have been in one heck of a reading slump the last few weeks. No rime or reason, just slumped. It’s a little depressing since the books just start piling up. I’m almost finished with The Nightmare Affair by Mindee Arnett and I’ve got to read Fragile Darkness by Ellie James today, which may or my not happen.

Argh! Sorry, wordpress confused everything. My friend Brooke bought me cupcakes from Wicked Cupcakes. I was just showing them off, because she’s a sweetie. And so were the cupcakes. I have nothing to do with their baking. I just had everything to do with their eating. 🙂

Haha, this post amuses me. You might want to point out what the awesome Allegiant discount is since otherwise people might not realize how awesome it is 😉
