The Perks of Being a Bookseller: Part 25

Hello all. I missed last week’s edition of The Perks of Being a Bookseller due to my honeymoon (gasp!) but I am here now. And I should be uninterrupted for a while, at least.

So, without further delay, here’s what I acquired from the publishers and varying sources in the last two weeks.

– Harpercollins is getting generous with their duplicates. This is not a repeat picture from weeks ago… they just keep sending the same lots of books to me.
And I can’t read them fast enough. O _ O  –

– Various paperbacks from friends and loved ones –

– … more Harpercollins… Though I did read The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider back when it was called Severed Heads, Broken Hearts. Which I still infinitely prefer. –

All things told, the last couple of weeks have been great. Not going to lie. The culmination of “the great, damned wedding” (as I came to call it in the final days) and the wedding vacation did wonders for my mental health. For the first time IN MONTHS I don’t have to worry about getting something into place for it. We did it as small as humanly possible and it still felt like a Herculean effort.

So I am glad that it’s done.

More than I can say.

And I am now wedded to my one and only Beekeeper. Which makes me Ms. Beekeeper, or him Mr. Bibliopunkk.

Pick your poison.

Other than that it’s bliss. I read four books in five days and I’m currently working on Jeri Smith-Ready’s Spring 2014 title, This Side of Salvation, which I adore utterly despite it being about religious zealotry. And baseball. And hippies.

(Yeah, I don’t know how it’s working for me either. Just call it the magic of JSR, I guess.)

What else… I’m off of work until Saturday. So I intend to read at least three more books between now and then. What do you suggest? Anything that you can’t wait for?

And with that I am out for the duration. Back to Jeri Smith-Ready. And Agatha Christie… and whatever other book trouble I can get into today.
