Hello loves.

It’s been a busy week for me, so I’m sneaking this one in here all quickly-like pre-hair appointment and post-walking. Here’s what I acquired this week from various pubs and peeps.

– Macmillan Summer Box 2013 –

– Penguin Summer/Fall box 2013 –

(That solid blue-spined one is a manuscript of Frozen by Melissa de la Cruz and Michael Jonhston.)

As you can see I definitely have my work cut out for me this week. Two pubs came in and now I am flooded with lovely new choices to read. And what have I chosen to read, pray tell, I hear you all asking? Well, I am currently 100 pages into The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins (this month’s book group read). It’s dry and dull and the plot has (only) just started to happen.

 So there’s that.

I am also reading Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I can just hear the cry of anguish sounding from my Macmillan rep. She absolutely loved the book and tried to get me to read it over a year ago. Well I tried… 3 times I read the first chapter and declared myself “not in the mood”. This week I acquired the sequel, Crown of Midnight, and it sparked the potential mood. I’m now 175 pages in and enjoying it quite a lot. I hate it when that happens with books I will genuinely like, but it does. And I can’t do anything about it. So here I am reading a book a year after release date.

Such is life.

I’m also working on my first ever Netgalley (request and) book. I’m reading A Wounded Name by Dot Hutchinson. It’s very good already; a contemporary retelling of Hamlet! Exclamation points!!! It was recommended to me ages ago by Tessa Gratton and I’ve been looking forward to it ever since. And I’m already enjoying it immensely.

So yeah, three books. At least they are very different from one another.

… All work and no play make Krys something… something…

At least I am still walking though.

So, that is all for today. What are you reading? What are you looking forward to reading?

That is a lot of books! I’ve only heard of a few of them before (I’m soo behind on blogging!) but hope you enjoy. I really want to read Rebel Spring since I loved the first book – I got an e-galley but I read e-books so slowly so hoping to get a real copy at BEA.
